With the number of scooters available in the market, buyers are becoming spoilt for choice. Here are the 5 best scooters on sale in India right now.

The scooter wave is really taking over the country. From Honda to TVS, the best-selling products of almost all two-wheeler manufacturers today are scooters. And it is no wonder that bikemakers are focusing their energies on giving the customers more scooters or brining updates to their existing products relatively faster. Of the long list of scooters on sale in the county today, here are the five best ones that you could put your money on.

TVS Ntorq:

Price: Rs 59,650 (ex-showroom Delhi)

We have been using the new Ntorq for over a month now and we are glad to report that TVS has nailed it with this one. From offering a great ride quality, a long list of first-in-class features and a great ride-handling balance, the Ntorq is difficult to fault with. We absolutely loved the instrument cluster with its fancy Bluetooth connectivity, call/SMS alerts, navigation option and more. If that still doesn’t cut, you can also have some fun at a nearby go-kart circuit and record the lap times while you are at it.

Aprilia SR150:

Price: Rs 71,486 (ex-showroom Delhi)

Yes, it isn’t the most affordable scooter out there and neither is it the most comfortable. It is easily the most fun scooter out on sale in India currently. The suspension is firm and that makes it quite a nimble machine. At over 10 horses, it isn’t extremely powerful, but it sure stands among the fastest scooters on sale today. There is that sharpness to the overall ride experience that no other scooter in the market today offers. To us, the over Rs 70,000 price tag is surely worth it.

Suzuki Access:

Price: Rs 55,045 (ex-showroom Delhi) for base variant

If you are on a tight budget and still want a 125cc scooter option, the Suzuki Access 125 is easily the best option for you. The base variant of the Access 125 undercuts rivals Honda Activa 125 as well as the TVS Ntorq by a noticeable margin. The Suzuki scores brilliantly in terms of refinement and comfort too. And then of course, it also manages to set itself apart thanks to its retro design language.

Honda Activa 5G:

Price: Rs 53,565 (ex-showroom Delhi) for the STD trim

It has been more than a decade and a half since Honda first brought in the Activa in the Indian market. Buyers loved it for the refinement and more importantly, its reliability. Now in its fifth generation, the Activa has become synonymous with automatic scooters. With the exception of the LED headlight and a semi-digital instrument cluster, the Activa 5G doesn’t have many features to flaunt – but the fact is, it doesn’t need many either. The trust that the Activa moniker has gained in all these years is enough to keep the sales numbers going. If you want a hassle-free, refined and efficient scooter, you simply can’t go wrong with the Activa.

TVS Jupiter:

Price: Rs 50,566 (ex-showroom Delhi)

While the Activa may be the overall best-selling scooter in India, the TVS Jupiter is easily the most comfortable 110cc offering in the market. The suspension isn’t as firm as the Honda which results in a much absorbent ride over rough roads. Two other aspects that really work in the favour of the Jupiter is the design and the price. It is for those who want the reliability of an Activa but want a more conventional looking scooter. Despite doing everything just right, it undercuts arch rival Activa by a few thousand rupees and that just tilts the equation in the favour of the Jupiter.
