The JV will work towards providing end-to-end powertrain solutions across multiple vehicle segments of the Indian EV industry.

Tata AutoComp Systems Limited, a subsidiary of the Tata Group, has announced a new Joint Venture (JV) with Prestolite Electric Beijing Limited (PEBL) that aims to provide powertrain solutions to the Indian Electric Vehicle (EV) industry. As per the statement issued by the companies, the venture will provide end-to-end solutions (from design to manufacturing & supply). Elaborating on the scope of the alliance, Mr Arvind Goel (MD & CEO - Tata AutoComp Systems Limited) said, 'Tata AutoComp has always been at the forefront in introducing new technologies in India. We are pleased to partner with Broad-Ocean Motor Group through PEBL as they have the latest technology and are amongst the top players in powertrain products for EVs. Through this JV, we will serve all segments of the EV industry – from two- & three-wheelers to passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles & buses.'

As Tata AutoComp is already a manufacturer of EV components such as battery packs, chargers, electric motors, battery management systems & integrated drivetrains, the JV will seek to use PEBL's access to all the latest EV-related technologies to generate cost-effective solutions for the Indian EV industry.
