Audi is a leading car manufacturer with prominent models like the Q3, Q3 Sportback, and A6. The carmaker currently sells 16 cars in India. It includes 5 electric cars too, which are e-tron, Q8 e-tron, Q8 Sportback e-tron, e-tron Sportback, and e-tron GT.
Upcoming models from Audi include Q6 e-tron, SQ7, A1, S7, A3, and R8 Spyder, which are expected to further strengthen its presence in the Indian market.
Audi India Pvt Ltd established itself in 2007 as a division of Volkswagen Group Sales India with headquarters in Mumbai. This marked the entry of the legendary German carmaker in India to tap the growing demand for luxury vehicles. Audi Gurgaon became the first authorised Audi dealership in the country, opened by the Zenica Group on 12th January 2007.
The first two Audi cars in India were the A4 and the A6, assembled locally at the Skoda’s Aurangabad facility. As of May 2018, the A3, A4, A6, Q3, Q5 and Q7 models were produced at the same Aurangabad plant. In 2008, India’s supercar enthusiasts got the treat as Audi launched its R8 supercar in India with the V8 configuration. The V10 model was introduced later in 2011.
