Audi Q2 Overview
Audi India has been missing out from the compact luxury crossover SUV space in India ever since its origin. With the Q2, Audi aims to mark its presence in the said space where most manufacturers have struggled – except BMW with the excellent X1, of course – in the past. With its aggressive price, Audi Q2, as of late-2020, serves as the brand’s new entry-level model in India.
Audi Q2 Exterior
The Audi Q2 looks more like a crossover than a full-blown SUV. It has the right proportions for urban use, and, as expected, it is a size smaller than the Q3. While LED headlamps, Audi’s signature grille, LED taillamps, and a chunky front bumper with wide inlets is standard across the range, the only giveaway on the exterior for the higher-end models is the sportier S-Line exterior, which consists of five-spoke wheels, and an extended black styling package, and few blacked-out elements.
Audi Q2 Variants
The Audi Q2 variants are as follows: Standard, Premium, Premium Plus I, Premium Plus II, and Technology. Some of the standard equipment on the top-spec variants include Audi’s virtual cockpit display, a rear-view camera, flat-bottomed steering wheel, aluminium-look interior with ambient lighting, and interior elements in leatherette.
Audi Q2 Interior
As said above, for the extra on-road price, Audi Q2’s top-spec variants pack a few nice gizmos such as leatherette elements, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and ambient lighting. Space inside is good considering that this is a compact vehicle after all. The only fly in the ointment is the touchpad operated MMI system, which sits on the top of the dashboard. While it packs the essential features like Apple Carplay and Android Auto, there’s no getting away with the fact that this is an older MMI unit that doesn’t even get a touch-sensitive display.
Audi Q2 Engine Specifications & Performance
The Audi Q2 comes powered by a sole 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, TFSI turbo petrol engine, which is good for 187bhp and 320Nm of peak torque. The engine comes paired to a 7-speed S-Tronic automatic gearbox as a sole fitment. Moreover, the Q2 gets Audi’s Quattro four-wheel-drive system as standard across the range.
