About Volkswagen Cars

Founded in 2007, Volkswagen India Pvt Ltd is a division of the Volkswagen Group India. The Volkswagen Group’s presence in the Indian market can be traced back to 2001. However, Volkswagen India began its operations much later. The company received tons of recognition for its German reliability and robust build quality.

The Passat was the first car to make its debut in India and was ushered in as a CKD unit. The launch of the Jetta sedan that happened in 2008, was then followed by the Polo in the coming years. After that, it brought the Vento sedan. Almost immediately, the Polo garnered unprecedented attention from the younger generation who made it their preferred choice for a hatchback. It became hugely popular with the younger crowd while the Vento emerged as a worthy competitor to the Honda City.
